U-Care in Nicosia (CY)

Researchers from the Society and Urban Form (SURF) Research Lab at University of Cyprus conducted fieldwork in the neighbourhood around Makarios Hospital in Strovolos Municipality - Δήμος Στροβόλου in Nicosia in September 2024.

The study was led by Alvaro Valera Sosa of Building Health Lab.
Data was gathered using 360-degree photography and thermal photography. The aim was to collect information about the heat in this urban area.

So what’s next? This data will be processed in order to assess how urban infrastructure in the area impacts health and the environment. It will then be embedded into an immersive viewer, where you will be able to virtually navigate the area and access the findings of this study.
